Day 1 Set Build

Day 1 Saturday
As it is not my role to produce so I threw out ideas for set design and ideas for the machine in my project notes on the VLE but as it got closer to the shoot date it became clear that what we had was what I have. I asked for some assistance to build the machine, to go through my garage and help me lift out the components I owned that I had suggested could be used in the build and set dressings.
If the racking was to be used I thought it best for the rest of the group to familiarise themselves on how it is assembled, as I knew I would have to assemble the machine components on the day of the shoot itself. Kyle Matty and Richard came over to my house on Saturday morning and we set about getting access to the parts.
Many hands make light work and we quickly lifted them out, likewise the racking was quickly assembled.
The rest of the day was spent developing the machine from the sketches that I had made. Good solutions were reached and the basic frame work for the conveyor was built and a decision reached on how to support the steel hopper and machine cowl. Richard did a lovely little edit from footage of the day that he took as I had an AVC out to record demos for my creative.
